A residence card is a residence document issued to foreigners who have been granted in Poland:

– temporary residence permit;
– permanent residence permit;
– long-term EU resident permit;
– permission to stay for humanitarian reasons
– international protection (granted refugee status or subsidiary protection in Poland).

During its validity period, the residence card confirms the identity of the foreigner during their stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland and, along with a travel document, entitles them to multiple crossings of the border without the need to obtain a visa.

Additionally, the residence card is a residence document that entitles its holder to travel within the territories of other Schengen member states for a period not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period, if the foreigner:

– has a valid travel document,
– can justify the purpose and conditions of the planned stay, andha s sufficient means of subsistence or the possibility of obtaining them in accordance with the law,

and also:

– is not considered a threat to public order, internal security, public health, or international relations of any of the member states, and in particular, no entry has been made against them in national databases of member states for the purpose of entry refusal.
