Schengen Visa (Type C)

This is a short-stay visa allowing a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. It’s ideal for tourists, business travelers, conference attendees, or those visiting family and friends.

  • Uniform Schengen Visa: Valid throughout the entire Schengen area, which includes most European Union countries and several associated nations. It grants the right to travel and stay freely within the territory of all these states. The duration of stay or total stays cannot exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

  • Limited Territorial Validity (LTV) Schengen Visa: This visa is valid only in the territory of one or more, but not all, Schengen states explicitly indicated on it. It grants the right to stay within their territory for a period not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period. It is issued in specific, justified cases.

Required Documents for Schengen Visa (Type C – basic):

  • Valid passport: Valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned date of departure from the Schengen area, containing at least two blank pages.

  • Completed and signed visa application form.

  • One recent biometric photograph: Color, on a light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size.

  • Proof of travel medical insurance: Valid throughout all Schengen member states, covering medical expenses of at least 30,000 EUR, valid for the entire planned period of stay.

  • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the costs of stay and return travel (e.g., bank statements from the last 3-6 months, certificate of employment and income, sponsorship).

  • Proof of accommodation (e.g., hotel reservation, invitation from an individual confirming accommodation provision).

  • Proof of purpose of travel (e.g., flight reservation, travel itinerary, invitation from an institution, letter from family/friends).

  • Document proving the intention to leave the Schengen area before the visa expires: This may include, for example, a return ticket or onward ticket, a detailed travel plan with departure dates, proof of permanent employment and income in the country of origin, documents confirming ownership of property or strong family ties in the country of permanent residence, indicating no intention to remain in the Schengen area.

  • Visa fee.
